Seiko Watches

Kintaro Hattori 1881 founded the company in Tokyo to compete with Swiss watch on the world market. This was followed by 1892, the company Seikosha Co., which had made only wall clocks, than he started making pocket watches. Now Seiko produces mechanical and quartz watches. Their prices are various. The least expensive watch costs about $ 50 U.S., the most expensive (the credor Spring Drive Sonnerie) costs over $ US100 000. Seiko mechanical watches are the very appreciate by collectors. Seiko Kinetic watches combine the attributes of self-energizing an automatic watch with quartz accuracy. There is no battery to change, the watch is entirely powered by its movement in everyday wear. The Hattori Clock Tower in Ginza, Tokyo, the former headquarters and main store of construction K. Hattori & Co., is currently home to the Wako Department Store. Frustrating for collectors, Seiko does not release all of its lines of watches in all regions, and some are only available in Asia, for example. Many online retailers ship watches overseas, though. Various Seiko watches are worn by the movie James Bond 007 in four films with Roger Moore in 1977-85. In addition, a Seiko watch was worn by Sean Connery in the 1983 Bond film Never Say Never Again. A Seiko Chronograph is worn by Jason Bourne in “The Bourne Identity” by Robert Ludlum.
