Casio Computer Co., Ltd. is one of electronics manufacturing Japanese founded in 1946, based in Tokyo. Casio is best known for their calculators, audio equipment, musical instruments, and watches. In 1957 Casio presented the world’s first electronic Casio calculator in small compact sizes.The name of Casio is simply an anglicized version of Kashi, which demonstrates that the company was acutely aware of the economic importance on the international market. The Kashios believed that in the post-World War II world would became a westernized society. All the consumers and businesses will be sold both nationally and internationally. They predicted that production will be moved behind the Japanese boarders.

After the invention of semiconductors in the 60s, electromechanical technology has started to being replaced by the pure electronic technology. In 1965 Casio invented the world’s first desktop electronic calculator with a memory, what was the incredible invention to memorize your calculator counts. These first devices, had plenty of disadvantages such as low speed and prone to mechanical failure. The models of Casio watches were also modernized. Economic boom in Japan gave to Casio Watches and Keyboards new possibilities to growth. In the 1980 Japan had become the world leader in electronics exporter, when the USA was the largest consumer of all electronics products. Electronics became a sort of fashion in the 80’s. While U.S. firms focused on industrial and commercial products and military, Japanese companies highlighted the consumer products.

In 1983, Casio released the shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch. This timepiece shows that a watch don’t need to be fragile piece of jewelry anymore, it was the result of Casio engineers designing the almost undestroyable watch. With triple-protection construction for the parts, module, and case, the G-SHOCK offered being unaffected by strong impacts or shaking.These features was resulting in very high sales in the early 1990s. The G-SHOCK brand has become Casio’s flagship watch of the Casio Company. Through the 1990’s, Casio has pretended their strength to transfer into new technologies to create the most desirable objects of consumption. Casio’s great idea was to produce the high-tech electronics as a small, lightweight and cheap gadget. It has been done this with calculators, watches and keyboards. This strategy brought to Casio million of dollars. The Casio management believes that its strategy was positioned for long-term growth plan using this evolving field of telecommunications and multimedia in progress to come.
