I really don't know why I like Saionji so much, except I suppose I am a sucker for liking minor characters/minor villains of any series, and Saionji is definitely a little of both. Seeing as my other two favorites in Utena are Ruka and Mikage, I think that says much in itself XD. I'm not going to defend Saionji as misunderstood, since he obviously isn't characterized very well at all, and most of the things he does can't simply be explained away. But I do believe that a closer look at him doesn't do any harm. He is a fascinating study.

All the writings on these pages, except the profiles and the episode guides, are purely my own opinion and you have a right to disagree with it, obviously. This site was completed in early 2001 and then I stopped working on it for some reason. I decided in Jan 2004 to start watching Utena again and regained a lot of my earlier enthusiasm for the site, so here is Something Eternal resurrected with a brand-new layout and hopefully lots of other new stuff coming your way.

Current layout is version 2 of the site (yeah I was lazy and had version 1 up for three years...) inspired by Core of Soul's song Photosynthesis. If you haven't heard this Japanese band, you are missing out. Visit Project J for a bio and song samples.

Site is back after 3 years! Brand new layout, cleaned out pages. I think all the links should work except for the wallpapers page. I'll get to that tomorrow.
