EPISODE 1: Saionji posts Wakaba's love letter on a public bulletin board. Utena sees Saionji slapping Anthy. Utena challenges Saionji to a duel. Saionji loses.
EPISODE 2: Saionji visits Utena to try to win Anthy back. He slaps her again and kicks Chu-Chu around. He challenges Utena to another duel, insisting that he lost the first one because he lost focus. Utena accepts. Surprise...Saionji loses again.
EPISODE 8: Utena and Anthy mysteriously switch bodies, and Saionji gives Utena in Anthy's body his exchange diary. Utena writes insulting comments in it.
EPISODE 9: Saionji and Touga fight a kendo duel in the practice room. Saionji has a conversation with Utena regarding the history of the duels. Flashback sequence of him and Touga finding the little girl in the coffin. Saionji receives a letter from the Ends of the World telling him the castle will fall to the Duelling Arena that day, and he kidnaps Anthy, intending to be the one who brings her to the castle. Utena and Touga confront Saionji at the Arena, and Saionji charges Utena but wounds Touga, who steps in front of Utena to protect her.
EPISODE 10: Because he broke the duelling rules and injured a duellist, Saionji is expelled from Ohtori. He gives Touga his and Anthy's exchange diary for safe-keeping, and Touga promises to take care of it for his "best friend." Once Saionji is out of sight, Touga throws the diary in the incinerator.
EPISODE 19: Wakaba tells her childhood sweetheart she doesn't love him...she loves someone else. When she arrives home, Saionji is there to greet her.
EPISODE 20: When Saionji was expelled, Wakaba offered to hide him at her house and he has been living there secretly ever since. He begins to make a hair ornament for Wakaba to show his gratitude. Mikaga bribes Saionji to give the ornament to Anthy in order to return to school. Saionji does so and Wakaba is crushed. She becomes a Black Rose duellist.
EPISODE 25: Saionji, back at school, announces that he refuses to fight any more duels. Touga suggest that Saionji go with him to meet the Ends of the World. Akio appears and they go for a ride in the Akio-car. The next day, Saionji challenges Utena, and almost wins when the Sword of Dios disappears and Utena is left without a weapon. But Anthy pulls it instead from Utena's body, and Saionji loses again.
EPISODE 27: Nanami is looking for her egg and spies Saionji camping out on the hill, cooking eggs(!) She screams at him, thinking he is cooking her egg, then spies it on the top of a bowl of eggs, grabs it, and runs off. Saionji is quite puzzled.
EPISODE 34: Saionji and Touga fight a kendo duel. Touga tells Saionji that the girl in the coffin so long ago is really Utena.
EPISODE 35: Saionji and Touga fight another kendo duel. Saionji confronts Touga, telling him that he knows exactly what kind of person Touga is, and asking him if "something happened" because he can tell that Touga's confidence about winning the duels is gone.
EPISODE 36: Touga and Saionji talk about the upcoming duel and wonder if Utena is really the one to bring revolution. They then go on a motorcycle ride and Saionji asks Touga if he really intends to fight Utena one more time. Touga promises that he will give Saionji his answer later tonight, then admonishes Saionji (who is standing up in the motorcycle sidecar) to sit down because "standing up is dangerous." Touga decides to fight Utena after all, and Saionji acts as his Rose Bride for the duel.
EPISODE 37: The members of the Student Council get farewell letters from the End of the World. Saionji and Touga discuss the letters and then reminisce about how they used to ride a bike together when they were children.
EPISODE 38: The Student Council has gathered in their meeting place while the duel is going on. Each of them place a rose of their respective duellist color in a vase.
EPISODE 38: Saionji and Touga are practicing kendo. Touga asks why Saionji is taking more classes, and Saionji replies that he wants to catch up on the time when he was "playing." Nanami announces that she made tea for them and Touga tells her that both of them will be there in a minute.
